("78" instead of "76"?)

Steve says: The more I think about it, the more I like 1978 rather than 1976. I finished flight school in early summer 1978, so would have had some time off prior to moving to LA. Summer of 1976, I had only been in El Paso for 6 months. I know I didn't travel early in July '76.

John: Hmm, I went back and looked at the 5 slides from the same roll, #34 - #38. On the others, it looks more to be "76" than "78". They also all appeared near each other as ordered in the tray, sandwiched between other slides that are more definitely "76". The tray was generally ordered by date, though not perfectly so. (The slides' filenames are in tray order.) In 1978, I was working in Los Alamos. I probably came home for a few days toward the end of August before heading to Yale (whose academic calendar starts around 9/1), so it's possible the slides were developed in August.
